Logistics take-up in Madrid and Barcelona posts one of its best figures in recent years
The logistics sector proved in 2022 that it is underpinned by robust support, driving record take-up of logistics warehouses throughout Spain to a total of 4 million sqm. Madrid and Barcelona are still the two main markets, but we are seeing other “secondary” cities becoming increasingly less secondary, such as Valencia, the Basque Country and Andalusia.
Another source of solid support for the sector is the fact that in 2022, take-up was not influenced by a single sector or tenant; demand was distributed across various sectors, with two more dominant industries: Retailers and 3PLs.
